Pool Opening Day Delayed
HWHOA • May 2, 2020
Based on current CDC and Gwinnett County safety guidelines, the May 16 scheduled opening of the Huntington West pool will be delayed. At the present time, Gwinnett County pools and playgrounds remained closed for the safety of Gwinnett residents. Our Board will be closely monitoring any changes in CDC and Gwinnett County guidelines and will be prepared to open our pool within 10 -14 days of current safety restrictions being lifted. Key cards will not be activated until the pool is ready to be opened. Reminder: HOA fees are mandatory for the support of the Association and are not actually "pool dues".
The Huntington West pool is and has always been a "swim at your own risk" pool - no lifeguards are available and no one will be available to monitor the pool once we are able to open it for Huntington West homeowners.
Each homeowner will be responsible for the safety and well-being of his/her family.
In addition, the following situational guidelines will be in effect when the pool opens and until further notice:
- If CDC safety limitations such as 50 person maximum capacity and 6 ft. social distancing buffers are still in effect when the pool opens, each homeowner will be responsible for ensuring those safety guidelines are followed. Failure to follow required safety guidelines could require closing the pool.
- Only homeowners of Huntington West and resident family members will be permitted within the pool enclosure. No guests are permitted and no pool parties will be permitted this year.
- Each homeowner will be responsible for bringing appropriate sanitizing wipes, hand sanitizers and other cleaning supplies to protect the health and safety of your family. Each homeowner will be responsible for making sure tables, door knobs and other areas visited by your family are wiped down thoroughly and each member of your family washes hands regularly and after using restroom facilities.
- Each homeowner will be responsible for properly disposing of food, drinks and trash in enclosed receptacles provided. The water fountain has been removed for this year.

Huntington West is blessed with many generous homeowners willing to help a neighbor in need, even a neighbor they have never met. Our Board would like to thank a trio of neighbors who stepped up to help a single mom who needed repairs to her picket fence. Many thanks to retiree Dave Lawson for volunteering to replace over 50 broken pickets on the fence.
